BIO
Javiye Bentley is a multidisciplinary woodworking artist. Inspired by nature, he creates primarily with wood, with works ranging from sculpture to installations.
His approach to his woodwork is fluidity, taking something known to be solid and stationary, shaping and sculpting it so its perceived to have movement.
Artist Statement
Artist Javiye Bentley's works plays on familiarity. The intention is to reintroduce the viewer to
objects they no longer consider. The fluidity the artist conveys, abstractly styled, gives an ease, a softness to material usually known for its rigidity.
